Dava's Website: Customizing 101
Why should you be a Panelist?
I have been customizing since the fall of 1999, and I run the popular tutorial website "Customizing 101." I am friendly and fair, and would love to participate in this contest!
Baby Majesty
This was one of the first customs I was truly proud of. I always thought Majesty, of all ponies, should have been given a child. I constantly receive emails or comments about this little princess, and she is my most-requested commission project.
Baby Bubbles

Bubbles was one of my favorite ponies growing up (wish she was still in the 50MBP!), so I made her a little one from a poor Baby Stockings. She is dyed yellow and has hair donated by Firefly.
Baby Butterscotch

This one was made from a bald Baby Cotton Candy! She gets the most remarks after Baby Majesty. Baby Butterscotch is one of my finest examples of symbol work. (In case you're wondering, the antennae were painted with a straight pin.)
Baby Minty

I love this one! Baby Minty is hands-down the best dye job I've ever pulled off. I carefully mixed several colors together to dye a ratty Baby Stockings that smooth shade of green that is Minty's trademark.
Baby Sundance

In case you can't tell, I'm partial to babies! ~_^ This was a commission from a friend who wanted a non-BBE, non-ugly Baby Sundance. This is another good example of my symbol work.
Darklighter

Here's one of my few non-baby customs! This was for my friend, Darklighter. She was created from a tattered Gusty. The real challenge was her symbol, because blue and orange are complimentary colors and "cancel" each other out. A basecoat kept the flame from looking brown.
Lips

This is my one new-style custom, created for Lips, webmistress of Lost in Ponyland and a good friend. She was probably the most difficult custom I've ever created.
Baby Medley

This is Baby Medley, the model for "Customizing 101," and as far as I know, the first pony born on the Internet. LOL! The "after" caption, of course, means there's a "before" shot on the website. ~_^
Little Artisan

MoonBug asked me to create two of these little ponies as a prize for one of her contests. The design was based on a picture submitted to the contest, with the winner getting a real custom of the picture she submitted! These two have the most detailed symbols I've ever painted.
Baby Blue Belle

And finally... Another one of my Original Six babies! This one is an early custom who taught me some tough lessons about dyeing ponies. I absolutely adore her little symbols, though.
