Why should you be a Panelist?
As a customizer, I've entered many a contest, but I've never had the pleasure of being behind the scenes. I've thought often of hosting my own contest, but I felt I lacked the notoriety and big prizes needed to draw a crowd. Contests just aren't the same when there are only a handful of entries.
When I saw that Tickle was working on a large-scale awards ceremony, I immediately clicked for more information. It seemed like a wonderful opportunity to not only judge, but be part of something larger than myself, something that the whole community is involved in.
There are a number of award categories, but as my only fanfic is still all in my mind, and I'm not too coordinated with a pen and paper, I feel that I would be best at judging customs.
Alas, between school and work I haven't had the time to create the quantity of customs that some others have. Each piece I do requires a great deal of effort and attention. I do not have as steady a painting hand as some, but I believe I make up for that with an eye for detail, and the ability to think outside the Hasbro box.
As a member of the panel, I will give the contest my full attention. I will look closely at the fine details of each custom, consider the time and effort put into it, and judge in a fair and unbiased manner.
Satan's Midget and Whips 'n Chains - Newborn Twins from the Darkside
One of my best friends is short, goth, and generally evil. They call her Satan's Midget. The pony was designed by me as a gift for her, her equine equivelent. A bit later, I decided she needed a sister to share her mischief with, and thus Whips 'n Chains was born. All ponies need accessories, and these two are certainly no exception. Satan's Midget sees into the future with her deck of 78 Rider-Waite tarot cards, complete with their own red-velvet drawstring pouch. Whips 'n Chains has a collection of weaponry, including, of course, a whip and chains (and keys to her dungeon).
Swallowtail

Swallowtail was my very first commission, and I think, the most beautiful. (Note: she's not shiny, just a little shimmery. The flash reflected off her a bit badly)
Moonlight Chase

As a child, I would often capture fireflies on warm summer nights. I would stand in the darkness watching, waiting for one to flash its signal. Then I would run to it, and catch it in my cupped hands. The best part was peeking through my fingers to watch the insect glow.
I had this memory in mind when I designed this little pony. Her body is the color of the sky in the late dusk hours, her hair that of moonbeams. Her symbol is a crescent moon and gold glowing fireflies.
Saxon
Another pony I was commissioned to make. Her name, Saxon, means swordsman. Her symbol is a dragon silhouette over a silver sword.
Baby Masquerade

A miracle baby for a barren Hasbro mother
The High Priestess
Candles are often used in magic. Each color has its own meaning.
RED- fertility rites, aphrodisics, and spells involving sexual passion, love, health, physical strength, courage and will power.
YELLOW- confidence, attraction, charm and persuasion.
GREEN- fertility, success, good luck, money, ambition, and spells to counteract greed and jealousy.
BLUE- honor, peace, loyalty, tranquilty, truth, wisdom, protection during sleep and spells to induce prophetic dreams.
Festival

Festival is a medieval parade pony, leading the way in her blanket of swirls, ropes, coins, vines, and netting.
She was hand-painted with great attention to detail. Her hair was cut and styled into a short bob (Unfortunately it refused to lie down properly for the photos.)
Note: Her body looks patchy in the images, but that is just a result of the flash. Her body is an even color.

Baby Groupie

Another commission, this time for a Queen fan. (Her owner later named her Baby Freddie Mercury, but I prefer my nickname for her.)
