Here is the final stage of the 2002 MLP Art Awards - the announcement of the Winners. The links above ::points up:: show everything that's lead to the selection of these sites in each category. The MLP Online Community and the Panel of Experts chosen by that community, decided on the nominees and winners in all categories. Below you will find the category title and a description of its winner for each category. Enjoy, and thanks!

"My Little Pony Trading Post [MLPTP]" maintained by MLPTP

The MLPTP is the original "buy, sell, trade" website on the net for MLP collectors. Created in 1996, the first three "boards" were only for buying, selling, and trading MLP toys, and each post was updated by hand. By 1998, real message boards had been added, along with an Auction board, and a Discussion board. In 2000, with the reaching of over 100,000 hits, it was official, the MLPTP was a full-blown community, filled with people who wanted to know each other, and collect ponies together. With the move to EZboard, it was a simple task to add a friends board and a trader feedback board to reflect the changing needs of the community. The MLPTP gets an average of 13,000 page views and 800 unique hits a day, and has over 1700 members, making it the largest, not to mention friendliest, MLP community on the net. ^_^

"The 50 Most Beautiful Ponies" from Tickle

The 50 Most Beautiful Ponies is online My Little Pony interactive fanfiction. For me, 50MBP is about photography, characters, and interaction with the rest of the MLP Community. 50MBP started in 1997, and while no Contest has yet come full circle, we've had many individual rounds of fun. ::grins:: Make sure to check out the "Finalist Central" section, if you only look at one thing. This can be found by clicking the "F" [Finalist] in the hex-navigation, and then the white, or "patron," star that appears.

::steps onto a limb, precariously:: I think the most recent verison of the Contest [the one you see now] has a unique layout, a much higher quality of writing than my previous works, and the same photography that people seem to enjoy. I have created two versions of the site: one to be viewed with monitors set to 1024 and one in 800. This makes it possible for everyone to view an uncompromised version of the site design. I am so proud of this site, you don't even know. ::wink::

Vote for me or Steamer will cry.

"Lost In Ponyland Service" from Lipsy

Lost in Ponyland Service is a simple, comprehensive guide to the best of My Little Pony on the Internet.

Lost in Ponyland Service has five major sections that split into more specific subsections so that you can find exactly what kind of MLP website you are looking for - and quickly!

Not only is L.I.P.S. a great place to see new sites, but the L.I.P. Service Bullitin, on the first page of the site, is a great resource to find out when your favorite sites have been updated or something extra-special is occuring in the MLP Community.

You now have permission to clear out your Bookmarks. L.I.P.S. has you covered. ;)

"The My Little Pony Collector's Website" from Lavonia

This webpage is basically dedicated to all information on the My Little Pony line. It has been a work of progress of several years. Here are several main features on the site:

Information: Covers all U. S. Ponies, Mail Orders, International, New Ponies, Dream Beauties, Petites, Ceramics, PVC's, Prototypes, the original sketches and MLP information, Fan Clubs, Plushes, Guide to Hooves (country ID), Televsion and the Big Screen, My Pretty Pony, Mint in Package section (covers all U. S. ponies and most other ponies), and even variant ponies and ponies from various countries.

One of the most important aspects of the information guide is that it has built upon photo and information of other collector's as well as my own. I couldn't name all of the people who have contributed (though I would like to), but I am so very grateful to them.

Pricing Guide: Suggestive Pricing for ponies, U. S., International, New Ponies, Mail Order Ponies, etc.

Checklists: Checklists of My Little Ponies, U. S., International, New, Mail Order, etc.

Mint In Package Guide: This is an awesome feature that allows you to see what accessories go with each pony. I suggest this section for anyone who needs an accessory ID.

Lots of links to other My Little Pony sites.

A handy Search, you can search the enire site for whatever you're looking for. You can search for unknown ponies or for anything else.

Other features: Ecards, Cross Reference, Trading and Selling Information, Cleaning and Customizing, Common Terms, interesting places in the My Little Pony Community, Free Images, Poll, Q and A message board, My Little Pony Fakes and more.

"Candy Apple Ponyshop" from RenaissanceGirl

This little doodad is what encouraged me to think about designing as a professional career. It was a lot of fun to make... unfortunately, I don't have much time to devote to it nowadays since I'm taking my art much more seriously now and devoting my site mostly to my portfolio.

...and...

"Ponies in the Mist" from Milky Way

It's my pony site. Though smaller than some, I've worked hard to make it that little bit different, and to grow it further than the regular "want, trade, sell, take a look at my collection" to make it reflect my feelings about ponies and myself.

I have more ideas for this site than I'll ever have time to follow through, but it's very special to me.

Areas I'm particularly proud of are:
- Pony Widower
- The PTC and POOP pages
- MLP Through History
- The flutter wing tutorial

But there's so much more that I want to do with this site. For example, this is version 2, and I'm working on a version 3 at the moment. And the schoolhouse section is set to expand. Once I get a minute. And there is some fanfic in the pipeline which I hope will make people laugh, if they're not too shocked...

If I could, I'd spend all day, every day, working on this site. But sadly, The Man says I have to have a job, a life, etc....
